A few minutes later I couldn't believe it. I had a bridge on my nose! And the best part of it, it doesn't look unnatural nor does it look like different person! I was extremely happy with the results. Aguirre M. - San Pedro

Middle Eastern Non Surgical Rhinoplasty

A Non Surgical Rhinoplasty Alternative for Middle-Eastern Patients

Los Angeles is a city of incredibly diversity. People from all over the world have come to LA and settled here. This diversity has fueled a rise in rhinoplasty procedures that take into account self-identified ethnic identities. In other words, we’ve noticed that many patients of Middle Eastern descent or ethnic identity tend to have some similar requests.

It used to be the case that surgery was the only option for such patients looking to achieve those looks. But that’s no longer the case. Dr. Rivkin and Dr. Cohen offer a non-surgical rhinoplasty procedure that can generate instant results without the need for a painful operation (and the ensuing painful recovery). Dr. Rivkin developed this procedure because, while patients often loved the results of their surgical rhinoplasty procedures, they often had to endure exceptionally painful recovery experiences. After all, the nose is among the most sensitive places on the human body.

The Non Surgical Rhinoplasty Procedure for Middle Eastern Patients

Many of our patients who come either directly from the Middle East or who have ancestry in the Middle East have common requests. This isn’t to suggest that all Middle Eastern noses are the same—the human nose is an incredibly varied bit of anatomy, no matter who it belongs to. Dr. Rivkin and Dr. Cohen always seek to enhance the individual and meet the individual patient’s needs while simultaneously honoring the ethnic or cultural identity to which that patient identifies.

Common requests from patients of Middle Eastern descent include the following:

  • A nose that feels too large for the face
  • A nasal bump on the bridge of the nose
  • A drooping tip to the nose
  • Nostrils that feel too wide for the nose

In order to correct these issues, Dr. Rivkin has developed a non-surgical rhinoplasty procedure that uses dermal fillers to add volume to the nose. In the case of patients who may feel their noses are too large, this can sometimes be corrected by adding volume in other areas to help balance out the appearance of the nose. After all, much of how we perceive the nose is a matter of balance and proportion with the rest of the face.

The Procedure

During the non-surgical rhinoplasty procedure, Dr. Rivkin or Dr. Cohen will make several quick injections of dermal filler into the nose. The injection sites will be targeted specifically to give you your overall desired results, whether those results include a straight bridge or a more defined tip. The injections themselves should only require several minutes to complete. Dr. Cohen or Dr. Rivkin may ask you to place a bag of ice on the injection site in order to help mitigate discomfort and to diminish any possibility of bruising.

Once the dermal filler has been injected, the practitioner may compress, or “mold,” the filler into the desired shape. This is done to help give you a natural-looking finished result. Both Dr. Rivkin and Dr. Cohen have trained and experienced eyes when it comes to this. By the time you leave the office, you should not have to worry about day-to-day activities impacting your desired results. This is true whether you want your bridge straightened or the tip of your nose defined.

Recovery and Results

You should be able to see and appreciate your new nose immediately. Unlike a surgical rhinoplasty, after which patients must endure weeks of painful recovery, there is virtually no recovery for a non-surgical nose job. There may be some slight redness or bruising, but that will subside in a matter of days.

How long your results last is, basically, up to you. If you’re looking for a “test run” or if you only want your results to last a short while, you should choose a dermal filler that will slowly diminish over the following 6 months or so. However, it is possible to achieve more permanent results, thanks to dermal fillers that last upwards of ten years or so.

A Final Result That Honors Your Individuality

With non-surgical rhinoplasty procedures that focus on “ethnic” results, there’s always the danger of a perception that patients simply want a more “westernized” nose. This isn’t always the case, and Dr. Rivkin and Dr. Cohen both work hard to emphasize the individual results for patients. In the case of Middle Eastern patients who are looking for a non-surgical procedure, we’re able to give them the results they want without compromising the ethnic identity they want to preserve.
